Cloud computing and related technologies are constantly growing, which enables companies to scale up their operations. This year, we heard the declarations of technological giants, Microsoft and Google. They assume investments of 1 billion and almost 2 billion dollars in cloud computing in Poland. As Mark Loughran, CEO of Microsoft Poland commented, it is our country that may be the technological center of Europe. On the other hand, the director of Google Cloud business development in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, Magdalena Dziewgu\u0107, said that the Google Cloud region in Warsaw will be the same type of infrastructure as in other locations in Europe and in the world - in Zurich, London, Tokyo or Los Angeles (from Business Insider). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cloud computing in the definition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cloud computing is a data processing model available at the user's request. These include data warehouses (such as Google Drive or OneDrive), but also many other services that use the great computing power of servers in the cloud. Services are crucial here, the most popular of which is SaaS (Software as a Service). SaaS applications include various types of CRM tools, e-mails, office tools (Google Docs, Office 365), virtual machines or even games (this year, among others, Google Stadia or the xCloud model in the Xbox Game Pass subscription). At Selectivv, we use the SaaS tool - Selevtivv Viewer. It is a software which, thanks to an intuitive interface, enables independent monitoring and analysis of one or more physical locations. Thanks to its use, it is possible to get to know users visiting selected places better and to discover customer behavior. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - cloud computing from Google<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GCP is a platform offered by Google, based on the same infrastructure that powers products such as Search, Gmail, or YouTube. It provides many modular cloud tools such as analytics, data storage, machine learning, and computing power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Cionet Co-CEO Selectivv discussion panel, Dominik Karbowski had the opportunity to exchange our GCP experiences. Thanks to the presentation and conversation, we managed to collect several conclusions and benefits of working in the cloud. It makes it easier for us to enter new markets and it is easily scalable. Selectivv operates not only in Poland but also in Ukraine and Romania. Dominik also confirmed the usefulness of increasing the required computing power, depending on the project underway. Cloud computing as a solution for costumers can be both convenient to use and cost-effective.
