Croatia has been one of the most common holiday destinations for Poles for many years. Beautiful nature, access to the sea, wild beaches and charming towns are just some of the attractions that this place has to offer. This year, many Poles have succumbed to this charm.
Below we publish the results of the research carried out at the end of the summer holidays. We checked how many Poles spent their holidays in Croatia this year. We will also compare this year's results with last year's. Is information from friends about the large number of tourists in this country supported by the data? We check!
Croatia attracts Poles with its attractiveness every year. It is located relatively close to our country, enjoys warm weather, beautiful landscapes and relatively low prices (at least a few years ago). You can go there to rest properly without planning your trip. This year, peace was shaky because many people had come up with a similar way of spending their free time.
How did we collect the data? Thanks to our DMP platform and advertising networks in mobile applications, we were able to track smartphones that moved from Poland to Croatia in the period from June 2020 to July 2021. Each of the phones that had a mobile application with displayed ads was added to our statistics. Thanks to this, we were able to check this year's number of tourists, but also compare it with last year's results.
The data is clear - this year we went on holiday to Croatia in large numbers. In July, the Balkan country was visited by 231,000 people. our compatriots. For comparison, in 2020 this number was only 92 thousand. In 2020, the greatest number of Polish tourists was in August (195,000), which is less than this year in July. If we add the number of visitors in June and July 2020, the sum will also be lower than in July 2021.
By the way, not only the strict holiday period was full of large numbers of visitors. The intensity of arrivals increased in May this year. With 9 thousand. in April, the number rose to 182,000 in the following month. Polish tourists.
These numbers were influenced by the pandemic and limited travel abroad in 2020. It was only in August last year that these restrictions were loosened, hence the increase in the number of tourists by almost 100,000. This year it's all about catching up. After more than a year of bans, the restrictions were finally lifted to a minimum and we were able to travel relatively freely. Exactly - quite so, that's why many people chose a safe and well-known destination to which they could move by car.
