Our agency has prepared a research analysis of the Literary Sopot event in August this year. The Selectivv research team analyzed the movement of festival participants on August 19-22, 2021.
According to our agency's calculations, the festival was visited by over 1,500 people. It constituted almost 0.3% of all people staying in the Tri-City at that time. The highest number of visitors was recorded on Friday (August 20) and Thursday (August 19), which may indirectly indicate a relatively high proportion of tourists among the festival audience (analyzes of similar events at other dates and targeted at residents of particular towns showed more significant numbers on holidays, such as Saturday and Sunday).
A comparison of the characteristics of festival visitors with the general population of people staying in the Tri-City during the analyzed period showed that women were a more significant proportion of the event audience. There was also a considerable percentage of people buying online or visiting nightclubs/discos.
It is safe to say that visitors to the festival use public transport to a much lower degree. This may result both from their level of wealth (higher than average) and the significant share of tourists in a given period. A lower percentage of people interested in sport was also observed among festival visitors compared to the general population of the Tri-City.
