Selectivv vs. Internet of Things

During the conference on IoT in Poland organized by Ministry of Digital Affairs #TeamSelectivv presented speech on analysis of mobile data in the World of Internet of Things. We focused on four major topics in Polish public sector context: traffic&transport, trade&retail, tourism and events.

Traffic & Transport

Internet of Things and Selectivv Viewer

As a first example, analysis of Warsaw residents' flow on their way to work and back home was shown. It focused on measuring and visualizing the way people move in the city in the morning and evening traffic. We conducted that traffic to and from Śródmieście is responsible for one-quarter of all traffic in Warsaw in the morning and nearly half in the evening. A sample of over 6 million observations were collected, in which there were over half a million unique users.

Trade

Second one was analysis of the resident’s shopping needs based on Krzyki District in Wrocław. We have checked the possibility of predicting the shopping needs of Poles. The Big Data analysis was compared with the results of a declarative survey carried out using the MAPI (Mobile Assisted Personal Interview) method implemented by the MANDS market research and opinion agency. The study showed that the behavioral data obtained from the mobile devices provide a strong reason for building consumer predictions.

Tourism

Next, tourist traffic research based on West Pomeranian Voivodeship research was discussed. Analysis was provided based on tourist traffic in 2017-2018 on the basis of historical data collected in BIG DATA databases. The main objective of the study was to estimate the size of tourist traffic. After a detailed analysis of the data obtained from the BIG DATA, entities, institutions or organizations responsible for tourism in a given region will be able, for example, to prepare more effective advertising campaigns and then modify them based on the evaluation of the obtained results.

Events

Last but not least, analysis of demographic & user characteristics were presented. During the event, we carried out monitoring of ten selected places and checked the number of participants in these institutions. Also, to provide real-time experience we shared all statistics via a dedicated website.

Use and integration of mobile data in the Internet of Things

It’s just a hint of mobile data collection, analysis & usage in various fields.
