How to create the perfect landing page?

landing page

Creating an ideal landing page that will fulfill its functions, will be convenient to use and maintained in the current style requires the use of certain elements that should be inseparable in the creation process. You have to bear in mind that a landing page is a different type of website. What is the difference between? What's the best way to create it?

What is a landing page?

Landing page is a website, where we appear, for example, after clicking on an ad. It is created to sell a specific product or obtain detailed data directly. So simply speaking, it has a strictly defined goal, which is the implementation of the action posted on the website.

What is the difference between a landing page and a classic website?

The average Internet user cannot distinguish whether he is currently on a website or a landing page. This is mainly due to the lack of knowledge of how they differ. A classic website differs from a landing page by several essential features that determine what a given website address is.

We find the differences in:

  • the goal
  • recipients
  • number of pages and subpages
  • the presence of the navigation menu
  • content on the page
  • positioning of the page, the essence of SEO
  • cost of implementation

Purpose

An important feature is, of course, the purpose of the page. For example, when you set up a business and want to distribute your services on the Internet to the largest possible audience, you need a website. Thanks to it, access to your services will have everyone who needs them and is currently looking for them. Such a website is strictly informative, and its purpose is to present the services it contains to its potential customers. On the other hand, the landing page is primarily used to obtain specific data or target sales of given services. So, if you have written an e-book or recorded a guide on a particular topic, you do not need the entire website to distribute it. All you need is a simple landing page that will be used to sell your product on the domain of your choice.

The measure of success on the landing page is its action, e.g., leaving an e-mail and downloading an e-book, and not the page visit itself.

Recipents

Random visitors may appear on the general website, mainly from organic searches, who may become potential customers. Landing page visitors are people who, for example, saw an advertisement with a service or product placed on the landing page, clicked on it, i.e., performed an action, and entered the page to complete the action - to obtain a given service or product. It is a strictly defined group of potential customers because what can be obtained from a landing page is intended for a specific group.

Number of pages and subpages

The website consists of unlimited pages and subpages, which is essential for analyzing visitors and positioning the website. The landing page is one page, with no unnecessary extra. It is a deliberate procedure to persuade the recipient to enter - act on the page.

Navigation menu

Therefore, there is no navigation menu on the landing page. It is redundant due to the nature of the website. However, the classic website needs such a menu to make navigating it comfortable and justified.

Content

The website contains general, highly developed content that exhausts the topic. They are to provide us with as much information as possible and bring us closer to the willingness to use the services or buy a product - simply staying on the website as long as possible. The content on the landing page is very narrow and specific, leading only to the goal written in the language of benefits.

Your landing page should have a clear and inviting headline, top-quality photos related to the topic, and visible contact details. You should also remember to place a clear, conspicuous CTA to encourage the recipient to take a specific action on the page.

Positioning and SEO

Referring to the previous point, a website with vast content needs positioning for an organic search to be effective. Considering that the texts on the landing page are minimal and specific and the recipients find it not by accident, SEO actions are also minimal and often largely unnecessary.

Costs

The cost of creating a website is several to several thousand zlotys, if it is done by an external company. If you need a landing page, even without much skills, but with the help of our agency, you are able to run it yourself. Due to its specificity, nature and limited content, landing page costs are much lower.
