Begin by explaining the methodology of the survey. A foreigner included in the group staying in Poland is a person who is present in the country for at least 30 days at least once a year. This makes it possible to refuse tourist and short-term visits strictly.
In the era of current world events and geopolitical narrative, it might seem that the inhabitants of distant destinations, such as Arab countries, Africa, or the Middle East countries, will be placed relatively high on this list. Meanwhile, as we estimate, among over 2 million people who stayed in Poland for over 30 days, Belarusians are the most numerous group, followed by Russians. The other countries that joined this list may surprise you.
In the previous analyzed periods, Moldova was not in the top ten. It ranks third in the ranking with over 72 thousand India and Georgia with over 50,000 people.
Vietnam, Turkey, and China, i.e., the nationalities included in the analysis in 2019 and 2020, are also in the middle of the table this year, mainly with an upward trend. Only among foreigners from China was a decrease compared to previous years.
Nationalities such as South Korea and Great Britain are surprised in this list. They were also not taken into account in previous years, and in 2021 they closed the list of TOP10 foreigners staying in Poland.
